Breckenridge is hosting one of our favorite events of the year this week, the International Snow Sculpting Festival! The artists will be carving throughout this week and viewing begins on Saturday, January 29th. Sculptures will be on display until February 2nd but the Town of Breckenridge is expecting this Saturday and Sunday to be the busiest so you do need to register for free to schedule a time to view.

Wednesday, January 26th

Live Music for Angry James' 4th Birthday @ Silverthorne, 5 pm

Angry James Brewery is celebrating their 4th Birthday this evening with Live Music from Jeff Kingery 5-7 pm. Mug Clubbers can also redeem their free pint. Birthday celebrations continue through Saturday with Trivia Night, Live Music from Neighbors and their special anniversary IPA release!

Thursday, January 27th

Thursday Ladies Nordic Ski Hour @ Breckenridge, 11 am

If you're looking for some company out on the trails, join us Thursday mornings for our new Thursday Ladies Ski hour!

One of the instructors takes a group out for a fun hour of social skiing but is available for questions, tips and tricks. It's a fun way to get your friends into the sport, try a new outdoor workout, or just have some company while you ski

Movie Night: Torn @ Breckenridge, 7 pm

Enjoy Movie Night at Breck Film Festivals Eclipse Theatre. Torn illustrates the risks and rewards of extreme climbing by chronicling the experiences of some of the world's greatest extreme climbers. Includes footage of legendary climber Alex Lowe's ill-fated climb and his son Max's arduous journey to return to the spot where he perished.

Friday, January 28th

Comedy night with Pat Treuer @ Breckenridge, 7 pm

Broken Compass' monthly Comedy Night returns, this time on a Friday evening! Local comedian Pat Treuer hosts this evening of comedy, welcoming special guest Mark Masters to the Broken Compass stage for the first time. Get ready for a barrel full of laughs and beer, the combination of the two will have you falling out of your chair. Enjoy this FREE show and catch the aftershow at the Main Street taproom at 9!

Saturday, January 29th

International Snow Sculpting Competition @ Breckenridge, 10 am

Breckenridge’s International Snow Sculpture Championships presented by Toyota is a world-renowned snow sculpting competition where teams of talented artists descend on Breckenridge, Colorado to hand-carve 20-ton blocks of snow into enormous, intricate works of art. Artists are only allowed to use hand tools, creativity and inspiration to bring their ideas to life. No power tools allowed! Teams sculpt countless hours across five days (totaling around 96 hours), resulting in a temporary outdoor art gallery in historic downtown Breckenridge!

Sunday, January 30th

Beginner Oil Painting @ Breckenridge, 2 pm

Enjoy the adventure of creating your own work of art each week while becoming familiar with the basic methods, techniques, and tools of oil painting on canvas. Create a new painting each week while learning to use a variety of oils, solvents, brushes, and supports. Acquire skills in underpainting, scumbling, glazing, Impasto, Alla Prima, and Sfumato techniques.
